So Far. Thanks primarily to my new membership in a private torrent tracker that shall remain nameless, and the fact that I graduated and have more free time now, this has been my biggest music year in a long time. This is a very personal list, just what I'm listening to a lot, not encompassing everything that I consider "Good."
1. How to Dress Well: Love Remains
2. Pocahaunted: Make it Real (Heavy rotation for months)
3. Deerhunter: Halcyon Digest
4. Die Antwoord: $0$ (Original version, I haven't heard the commercial release yet)
5. Yeasayer: Odd Blood
6. Philip Jeck: An Ark For the Listener
7. Emeralds: Does it Look Like I'm Here
8. Antony and the Johnsons: Swanlights (I only just got this, but I have a feeling it's a grower)
9. Twin Shadow: Forget
Umm, looks like I only have nine. Luckily there's plenty more time left to get this polished up.

Hi David!
Your gmail account doesn't seem to be working!
It was great to meet you after the Conference, and thanks for an interesting chat! I've just had a look at your blog and there's so much good stuff up there! If you've got the Obakemono Autopsy book, have you got the new Killer Kaiju book by that guy called Vansittart or something? I tried to follow you on Twitter but I could only find the 'share this on Twitter' icon. I must be looking in the wrong place.
After the Con, I was in bed for 2 days with a heavy cold, I hope you didn't catch it. I'm back at work now prepping for the School Festival and looking forward to getting back to writing. I hope to see you again one day, write when you have time,
All best wishes,
John Paul Catton.
And this is me -

I've only listened to the Deerhunter once all the way through - need to give it some more attention before I can make a fair assessment.
Same with Antony, though I loved the last one.
Yeasayer - YES. Just saw them last month - very dope.
I believe web release of Die Antwoord was actually 2009. I just got the commercial release, which sadly has only 10 tracks.
The rest are clearly things that I need to give a spin!
Man, Twin Shadow is my lock of the week for you. He's like a . . . really grim? . . . version of Prince.
What your comment means is that I will listen to this TONIGHT.
Can't say I'm blown away, but it has grow potential. I actually think it sounds more like Peter Gabriel than a permutation of Prince.
I know. Now that you've listened, I can admit I was just manipulating you. Ha! (In fact, I think this is the second time I've spuriously compared something to Prince to get you to check it out).
Anyway, it's not really "blow you away" type tunes. Hopefully it'll grown on you, I'm totally in love with it.
